Fire Station Visit
The Austin Fire Department will accommodate visits to fire stations for small groups. No minimum number of visitors is required. Normal hours for station visits are 9 – 11 a.m. and 1 - 6 p.m. To arrange a tour, please contact the Public Education Office to schedule at least a week in advance.
Fire Safety House Appearance
If available, the Austin Fire Department will send the Fire Safety House to schools and community events, upon request. A minimum attendance of at least 250 people is required. Please contact the Public Education Office with at least 1 month’s advance notice.
FREE Smoke Alarms
The Austin Fire Department Public Education Office has a Smoke Alarm Hotline that will provide a free smoke alarm to Austin families that cannot afford them. Seniors who are 60 or older may also qualify. Please call the Hotline at 512-974-0299.
